About the Program:
The ZEV SEED training program is a “Clean Mobility Exploration Program” for people interested in finding a job in the electric vehicle (EV) industry.
The training will cover:
The training will be delivered in two parts – Classroom Training and Hands-On Training. There will be 5 rounds of training offered to 5 cohorts. The cohorts will consist of 20 to 25 trainees. The cohorts are:
Trainees will go through 4 weeks (60 hours) of classroom training at the Community Resource Project, Inc. Office (3835 41st Ave, Sacramento, CA 95824). The classroom training will include tours/field trips, industry guest speakers, virtual reality (VR) training, soft skills lessons, and group activities.
VR technology provides a 360-degree active learning environment. This form of training will allow trainees to perform tasks on a virtual EV to become familiar with the tools and processes needed to work on an actual EV in the EV industry.
After completing the classroom training, trainees will undergo 4 weeks (84 hours) of hands-on training at the California Mobility Center’s Ramp Up Facility (8351 Luzon Ave, Sacramento, 95828). The hands-on training will expand on the topics covered in the classroom training. It will include activities and demonstrations of electric vehicle charger installation, electric vehicle maintenance and driving, hazards, and electrical workplace safety.
