Pacific Gas and Electric’s (PG&E) Portable Battery Program provides backup batteries to lessen the impact of Public Safety Power Shutoff events on customers who rely on medical devices. Community Resource Project partnered with PG&E to reach Yuba County residents who are on medical baseline, and live in High Wildfire Threat Districts, or areas prone to wildfire and or Public Safety Power Shutoff events. CRP works with predetermined customers in Yuba County to assess their emergency preparedness and medical device information to match them with the best battery available for their needs. When a customer cannot be assisted with a battery, CRP works with FREED, a local Independent Living Center, to provide alternative options.
CRP will not be participating in the 2025 Portable Battery Program. To learn more, visit PG&E’s page on resources for accessibility, aging, financial, and language needs, and select the Continuous Power Options tab.
CRP recently completed it's Zero Emissions Training Program. Click here to see the program report.
